Qinghai Province

In 2014, the disaster situation in Qinghai Province was the same as that in recent years, mainly including wind and hail, flood and geological disasters, and the number of collapsed and damaged houses was the lowest in recent years.

1.Drought and flood interweave and many disasters occur simultaneously

From April to June, the temperature in the north central region was higher and the precipitation was less. Most of the areas were less than 90% less than the same period in history, resulting in drought in Haibei, Hainan, Huangnan and Haixi, among which Menyuan County in Haibei Prefecture and Gonghe County in Hainan prefecture were the most severely affected. In the last ten days of May, continuous rain and strong convective weather occurred in some areas, causing rainstorm, flood, landslide and debris flow disasters. Drought, flood, wind and hail, debris flow, low temperature freezing and other disasters occur alternately in some counties (cities and districts) of Haidong, Haibei, Hainan and Haixi, which have great impact on agriculture.

2.The agricultural and animal husbandry production was affected by the invasion of cooling and rainfall

In mid-February, most parts of the province fell from small to moderate snow, and there was heavy to blizzard in the pastoral areas of southern Qinghai; From late April to mid-May, the temperature in the province continued to drop, and Delingha, Minhe, Ledu and other places appeared Frost caused severe damage to crops; In late May, rainy weather occurred in some areas, floods and geological disasters caused crop damage; In September, the precipitation in the area around Qinghai Lake and pastoral areas in southern Qinghai was 20% and 40% more than that in the same period of the year. The precipitation in Qilian, Tuotuohe and Yushu ranked third in history since 1961. Continuous overcast rain had adverse effects on crop maturity, milling, warehousing and animal husbandry. In mid-October, large-scale precipitation weather occurred in the province, and the first snowfall occurred in some areas since the beginning of autumn, the temperature dropped sharply, which had a greater impact on road traffic and agricultural production.
