Map description

Wind turbine

Wind speed by the size of the impact of wind speed increases with the height of the rapid increase

Wind energy

A wind energy abundance can be expressed with the effective wind speed because the wind speed of 3 meters per second when the wind machine began to start. When the wind speed down to 0 meters per second or more than 20 meters, due to limited capacity of the wind turbine to stop running, it will be between 3 to 20 meters per hour is called the number of hours available. The effective wind energy density is the effective wind power density multiplied by the available wind speed hours.

China belongs to the monsoon climate, four wind energy of different sizes, from March to May the wind power density, December to next February. Effective wind power density and the number of available hours are the most abundant in the southeast coastal strip and its islands. China's wind energy resources can be developed in more than 10 million kilowatts, of which land development and utilization of wind energy reserves of 205.9 billion kilowatts by 2020 wind power generation capacity of up to 5000 to 80 million kilowatts. Since the 90s of the 20th century, China has developed into a stand-alone wind turbine composed of more than one wind farm.

Each resource area in the figure is at the effective wind energy density

1, resource-rich areas (effective wind energy density ≥ 200 W / m2, A: ≥ 5000 hours)

2, resource-rich areas (the effective wind energy density of 150 to 200 watts / m2, A: 3000 ~ 5000 hours)

3, the resources available area (effective wind energy density 50 ~ 150 W / m2, A: 2000 ~ 3000 hours)

4, the lack of resources area (effective wind energy density <50 W / m2, A: <2000 hours)

Note

The letter A in the figure represents the accumulated hours of wind speed 3~ 20/s

The map comes from the "China Geographic Atlas" in China's wind energy resource distribution
