In the regulates and peak clipping effect in flood year of Fengman reservoir and Baishan reservoir is very obvious, especially in the lower reaches of the Fengman Dam the rate of peak cutting can reach 40%~80%. Baishan reservoir was built in 1983. From than on,the benefit of flood control is further increased because they joint dispatching.

In addition, the storage and regulates effects of Fengman reservoir have played a great role in the flood of the Harbin Station which is in the main stream of Songhua River,In particular, the flood of Second Songhua Jiang, such as in 1953 the peak cutting peak reached 2170 cubic meters per second and the peak cutting rate reached 18.5%.
