Interannual bed density in Libya

This dataset provides the number of beds per 1,000 population; It is a general measure of the availability of inpatient services. Hospital beds include inpatient beds in public, private, general and specialist hospitals and rehabilitation centres. In most cases, beds for acute and chronic care are included. There is no global target for the number of hospital beds per country, as the level of in-patient services required by countries depends on several factors, such as population issues and disease burden. Thus, while 1 bed per 2 persons may be sufficient in one country, 2 beds per 1,000 persons may be seriously insufficient in another country due to the high number of hospitalizations due to illness.
