Republic of Singapore is an island nation in Southeast Asia, referred to as Singapore, Singapore, formerly known as Singapore or tao. The political system is governed by parliamentary republicanism. It lies one degree (137 km) north of the equator, at the southern tip of peninsular Malaysia, with Indonesia's Riau Islands to the south. Singapore's territory consists of one main island along with 62 other islets.

In Fourteenth Century, Singapore belonged to the Sultan Dynasty of Malacca. Britain was colonized in early nineteenth Century. In February 15, 1942, Singapore was occupied by invading Japanese forces. In 1965, Singapore was officially independent.

Singapore is a multicultural immigrant country, and promoting racial harmony is the core policy of the government. Singapore is known for its stable political situation and a clean and efficient government. It is one of the most cosmopolitan countries in the world.
