At present, high-rise building in our country is increasing. Moreover, when fire occurs in the high level, it often spreads very quickly so people have difficulty in survival, and the fire is difficult to save.

After the fire, people tend to panic in the site and at this time, jump blindly and other false escape behavior is easy to cause casualties. Instead, people who are level-headed and have certain fire protection knoledge can successfully escape.

(1) Use fire equipment to extinguish the first fire.

We take a 4kg ABC dry powder fire extinguisher as an example. On the outer shell of the fire extinguisher, you can see the word ABC, which is applicable to ABC fire. A is for combustible solid, B for combustible liquid, C for flammable gas. This type of extinguisher is also suitable for low-voltage equipment fire.

Usage: ①pull out the insurance pin and pull up horizontally; ②pick up the front end nozzle and hold it with your hand; ③Press down and the dry powder squirts out.

Learn to use a fire extinguisher, and once the fire is found, we can put out the fire at the beginning of the fire to avoid further damage.

If your body is on fire and there is no water or fire extinguisher on hand, don’t run or beat with your hands. You must immediately try to remove your clothes, or roll on the ground and put out the fire.

(2) Listen to the alarm carefully. When a fire occurs in the high-rise building, the radio in the building will inform the fire of people in the floor as well as the safe evacuation route, method and so on. So don't panic and act blindly when you hear a fire alarm. Before opening the door, contact the door with the back of your hand. If the door is hot, you can't open it, otherwise the smoke and fire will rush into the room. If the door is not hot, it indicates that the fire is not large enough and you can leave the room quickly through normal channels. After leaving the room, you must close the door of the room to prevent the fire from spreading.

(3) Don't rush into the dense smoke. If you encounter dense smoke when you escape, stop and try not to rush out of the smoke. If the fire in the fire has sealed the stairway and the person above the fire level cannot evacuate, and the trapped personnel can evacuate to the roof or adjacent unlit staircases, and evacuate to the ground.

(4) Actively call for help. When the corridor of the fire layer and the staircase are blocked by fire, the trapped personnel should try to get close to the street window or balcony and other places where they can be seen, and send a rescue signal to rescue workers.

(5) Smoke prevention. When waiting for rescue, use a wet towel to cover the door to prevent the smoke from entering the room. If the building has a central air-conditioning vent, block it as well.

(6) Walk in a low position and crawl. In order to prevent the smoke poisoning and asphyxia, generally our approach is to use a wet towel to cover your mouth and nose. If the smoke is very dense, you should try to be close to the ground and crawls out.

(7) Below the third floor, you can drop soft objects downstairs and escape from the building. This method can be used when the fire endangers life and there is no other way to save you. Higher floor can choose curtain, sheet, and rope to connect for escape.

(8) Call the police in time. No matter where you are , please remember, do not forget to alarm due to panic.

The first thing you should do is to have the consciousness of escape. Entering into public places, you should observe the structure layout in your position consciously, remember the evacuation passageway and safety exit and bear the position of alarm and fire extinguisher in mind. In the event of fire, immediately alarm or telephone. It is dangerous to delay the alarm.

(9) Escape upward. You can't run down as soon as seeing fire at the bottom. When there is a fire on the lower floor, if people in upper floor run down, it will make the rescue more difficult. The right thing to do is to go up to the next level and don’t be delayed due to packing luggage and valuables.

(10) Close the window. If the escape route is blocked after the fire, close the door quickly, open the window and try to escape. Don’t jump blindly from the window. When trapped inside the room and you cannot escape, use wet towel to cover the mouth and nose to obstruct smoke attack and wait for rescue and try to call the police for help.

If trapped in the fire and unable to escape temporarily, don't hide in the top floor or wall cabinet and other places, try to make yourself in places that are obvious and easy to find and you can breathe, such as the balcony, window and so on. Be patient and wait for rescue so that the firefighters can rescue trapped persons by aerial ladder track. Because of the long time needed for high-level emergency rescue, it is possible to show the location to the rescue team with brightly colored cloth, making it easier for the rescuers to find out.

(11) Go downstairs by walking instead of elevator. The power supply system of local layer construction may be out of power may at any time in fire so you may be trapped in the elevator, which can threat to people's life directly. Therefore, don't take the elevator to escape in fire.
