Water system and water resources in northeast of China

In south of Northeast of China lies Liaohe basin covering 219600 square kilometers, merges with Songhuajiang basin which belongs to Heilongjiang basin covering 556800 square kilometers have been called Songliao drainage of Northeast together covering 774800 square kilometers, accounting for 62.4% of the total area of northeast of China, during which, Songhuajiang basin occupies 56800 square kilometers and Liaohe basin is 219600 square kilometers. In addition to Eergu'Na River, Heilongjiang River's main stream and tributary Wusulijiang River in the boundary of China and Russia on the northwest, the north and northeast, there are Yalu River and Tumen River lying in the boundary of China and North Korea on the southeast and Linghe River and some other rivers flowing into sea separately on the coast of Huang Sea and Bo sea. 315 rivers cover over 1000 square kilometers, 52 rivers in Jilin Province, 111 rivers in Heilongjiang Province, 45 rivers in Liaoning Province and 107 rivers in Four East League, Inner Mongolia municipality.

The gross amount of water resources in Northeast of China reaches to 193 billion cubic meters, during which, the amount of river runoff is 165.3 billion cubic meters, groundwater recharge serves as 64.055 billion cubic meters and exploitable amount comes as 22.4 billion cubic meters.
