Introduction
Through its help at home and abroad, THW makes a contribution to alleviating hardship and misfortune. Through its operations after disasters and in its long-term reconstruction projects, it provides humanitarian aid worldwide on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. This has often led to a deepening of political relations between the countries, as was the case after thw's deployment in Skopje (Yugoslavia) in 1963. Today, as an internationally active emergency organisation, THW is involved in the worldwide integration of all aid organisations. As a competent partner, THW plays a key role both at the United Nations and in the European Union.
