A massive landslide in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Gansu Province in August 8, 2010 caused a total affected area of 240,000 square kilometers and people of 26470. As of 2010, 1501 people dead, 264 people missed. The area affected by the debris flow was razed to ground; the infrastructure of the traffic, the supply of water and power and the communication had been largely damaged; the Bailong River was seriously blocked; barrier lakes caused a large urban area of flooding disaster. This was the most serious mudslide disaster since the founding of new China.
