Construction and Prospect of Drought Monitoring System Using Remote Sensing in Ministry of Water Resources

Abstract:

As a quick, economical and wide range monitoring method, remote sensing technology has become an important means of drought monitoring. The article introduces the construction of the drought monitoring system of the second phase project of the state flood control command, including the drought remote sensing monitoring model, operation flow and the design and development of the system. The monitoring system realizes the national routine drought monitoring every week and regional emergency drought monitoring every one to three days, and monthly regional water monitoring products. System trial operation shows that the accuracy of national drought monitoring products is consistent with foreign similar products, sometimes better, and average accuracy of regional drought monitoring products is above 80%. Finally, the future development of the drought monitoring system using remote sensing is prospected.
