Disaster assessment in June:

1.Extreme rainfall weather occurs frequently, and waterlogging occurs in some urban areas

In June, the south of China suffered three heavy rainfall events. Among them, from June 15-24, the southern region suffered the most during the heavy rainfall process, and the rainfall lasted for up to 10 days. The precipitation in most of Jiangnan and eastern South China was generally 100-200 mm, and southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian, northeastern Jiangxi, etc. The area reached 200-300 mm, and the local area was above 300 mm, causing disasters in 11 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Lizhou, and Yunnan. Zishui, Fuhe River, Ganjiang River in Jiangxi, Qiantang River in Zhejiang Province, Mengjiang River in Guangxi and other major and tributary rivers have experienced over-alert floods or over-historical floods. Affected by multiple rains, waterlogging occurred in some urban areas in the south. Among them, in early June, Fengshan in Guangxi and Shiqian in Guizhou were inundated in 60%-80% of the total area. In the middle and late June, the flooding depth of 2 counties of Mayang and Shaodong in Hunan reached 3 meters, which greatly affected the production, living and transportation of the masses.

2.Typhoon landed early, and geological disasters caused deaths

In June, a tropical storm made landfall on my country's mainland, and the number of landfalls was slightly higher than that of the same period in normal years (0.7). Tropical Storm No.7 "Hibeisi" landed on the coast of Haojiang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province on June 15. It was the first tropical cyclone to land in my country in 2014. It landed 10 days earlier than normal at the beginning of the year, causing Guangdong, Fujian 460,000 people were affected, and 40,000 people were urgently transferred and resettled, resulting in a direct economic loss of 1.2 billion yuan. In June, 11 provinces (autonomous regions) across the country suffered geological disasters, resulting in 30 deaths or missing. Among them, Fugong County, Nujiang Biaosu Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province suffered a landslide on June 30, causing 15 deaths and missing.
