Direct economic losses from drought in Inner Mongolia and parts of northeast China reached 8.4 billion yuan

According to the ministry of civil affairs website, since the start of the summer, parts of northeast China and Inner Mongolia have received little rainfall and the temperature has been on the high side, leading to sustained drought in jilin, heilongjiang and parts of Inner Mongolia.As of 9 am, August 10, 2016, 67 counties (cities, districts, and banners) in 16 cities (autonomous regions) of Inner Mongolia, jilin and heilongjiang provinces (autonomous regions) have been affected by the disaster, with 810,000 people living in need of assistance due to drought, of which 361,000 are in need of assistance due to water shortage due to drought.The affected area of crops is 3059.8 thousand hectares, of which 247.8 thousand hectares have been lost.1.326 million head of livestock (only) with difficulties in drinking water;Direct economic loss of 8.4 billion yuan.
