The characteristics of tornado

If a tornado occurs on the surface of the water, then it is known as waterspout. If it happens on land, it is called a landspout. The appearance of the tornado is strange and the upper part is a black or gray cumulonimbus clouds and the lower part is a drooping funnel shaped cloud column, with "small, fast, fierce, short" characteristics. The diameter of a waterspout is no more than 100 meters to 1000 meters. Scientists have not directly measured the wind speed, which is estimated to be 50 meters to 100 meters per second, sometimes up to 300 meters per second, exceeding the speed of sound. So wherever the tornado goes, it destroys everything. It's like a huge vacuum cleaner, and if it goes through the ground, everything on the ground will be swept away. If it goes through reservoirs and rivers, extremely high water column often occur, and sometimes the bottom is exposed. At the same time, tornadoes are short-lived, with often only a few minutes or dozens of minutes, up to a few hours. Generally it moves more than 10 km, it will disappear.
