Rational number

Mathematically, a rational number is the ratio of an integer a to a non-zero integer b, such as 3/8, and the general rule is a/b, so it is also called a fraction. 0 is also a rational number and an integer.

Irrational number

An irrational number, that is, a real number that is not a rational number, cannot be written as a ratio of two integers. If you write it as a decimal, the number after the decimal point has an infinite number and does not loop. Common irrational numbers have the square root of incomplete squares, π and e (both of which are transcendental numbers). Another feature of irrational numbers is the infinite number of continuous expressions. Legend has it that irrational numbers were first discovered by Hebrews, a disciple of Pythagoras.
