The mystery of tornadoes

2018-10-08  |   Editor : houguangbing

The formation of tornadoes is generally related to the sever convection caused by the heat of local area of the upper and lower regions, but the strong convection does not necessarily produce a tornado with a vacuum pump effect.

Soviet scholars Viktor Kushin proposed the inner gravity of tornado, namely new theory of the cause of thermal process: when the atmosphere becomes like" layers of scones”, thunderstorm cloud quickly forms inside. At the same time, the air near the area drops rapidly, forming a huge rotating vortex. In the vortex, wet air flow along the spiral upward, forming a thin space, in which the air inside becomes cold quickly and water vapor become condensate. This is whay people think tornadoes are like cloud column with thick fog.

But the problem is that in winter or at nights of some areas, when there is no strong convection or storm clouds, tornadoes still occur, which makes people feel the difficulty of the matter. Besides, there are some weird things about tornadoes that are unpredictable:

It sweeps through towns, destroy houses, scrape the cupboards from one place to the other, but it doesn’t break a bowl in the cupboard. People who are frightened by it are often carried aloft, and then are taken safely to the ground; if the air cyclone is on its course, it always scrapes the roof of the house exactly two or three hundred metres away, and then fling it to the ground, but everything in the room remains intact. Sometimes it plucks the hair from one side of the chicken, while the other side is intact. It can blow a hundred years of old pine trees and twists it into a new ribbon, while the little poplar trees near it isn’t damaged even a single branch.
