Related researches have shown that the damage caused by earthquakes to the human society tops the list of all kinds of natural disasters. There are about more than 5 million earthquakes per year on the earth. In the 20th century, the total number of people killed in the earthquake throughout the world was close to 1.2 million. The earthquake has brought damage and ruin to the society and people. At present, earthquakes monitoring and prediction is still a scientific problem that has not yet been conquered.

Based on the above requirements, function of real-time earthquake quick report has been developed in Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service. It is a system of seismic data management and service via advanced technologies. The earthquake information and its visualized map can be provided for users. The service website linkage is: http://drr.ikcest.org/app/s9834.

The epicenter location, earthquake magnitude, depth of hypocenter and other seismic parameters after the earthquake had been released in IKCEST Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service System. More reliable results of the automatic quick report are provided with regard to the majority of domestic and international seismic information. This will be contributed to quickly assess of disasters, timely emergency disposal and minimization loss of earthquake disasters for government and public.

The data resources of real-time information gathering of Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service are derived from 77 stations, including US Geological Survey Bureau Earthquake Information Center (USGS / NEIC), Global Seismic Network (GSN) and so on. Acquisition time of real-time earthquake information is delayed within 1 hour in Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Service.

The information is provided by the DRR Knowledge Service System of IKCEST
