Physical geography in the northeast of China

Manchuria, or northeast of China, located in the northeaste of China, between the 115.30'~135.30'E, and 38.43'~53.30'N. It acrosses 1600 miles from south to north, 1400 miles from east to west, including Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, these three provinces and parts of inner Mongolia which are Hulun Buir League, Hinggan League, Jirem League and Chifeng City.

Northeast of China occupies 1214 thousand square kilometers, among them, the mountains area is about 541 thousand square kilometers, accounting for 43.6%, the hilly area serves as 326 thousand square kilometers, accounting for 26.3%, and the plain comes as 374 thousand square kilometers, accounting for 30.1% of the total area. As for the four provinces, Heilongjiang is 454 thousand square kilometers, making up 36.6% of the total area, the eastern four parts of Inner Mongolia autonomous region are 450 thousand square kilometers, making up 36.2%. Jilin is 191 thousand square kilometers, making up 15.4%, and Liaoning province, is 146 thousand square kilometers, making up 11.8% of the gross aera. The landform feature of the whole region can be described in this way : it is ringed on three sides by mountains, the south is close to the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea , and three board plains-Liaohe plain, sonnen plain, and Sanjiang plain is situated on the middle, south and northeast of the particular land severally. This area is contiguous to Russia with Eergu 's Na river in northwest, Heilongjiang in north and Wusuli in northeast, is border on north Korea with Yalu river, Tumen river and Peakdusam's Heaven Lake. On the east, it is adjacent to people's republic of Mongolia.
