Map description

Map source

The online map of China's marine resources comes from the atlas of China National Geographic Map, prepared by the Editorial Committee of China National Geographic Map, and published by China Encyclopedia Press in November 2011. The scale in the map is 1: 30000000. In the picture, you can see China's offshore oil and gas resources and mineral resources.

China's offshore climate is diverse, water temperature conditions are suitable, seawater quality is rich in nutrients, and lush seaweed and a large number of plankton are growing, all of which provide a good environment for the reproduction and growth of various fish. There are many fishing grounds offshore. In terms of shallow sea fishing grounds, the area is about 1.5 million square kilometers, ranking first in the world. China has recorded 3032 species of fish, and more than 200 species are common in fishing. The number of fish species in the northern seas is less than in the south, while the number of high-yielding fish species is less in the south.

China's continental shelf and the Nansha Islands are rich in oil and gas resources. By 1995, more than 20 oil-bearing sedimentary basins had been discovered, with total oil and gas resources of approximately 48.9 billion tons. China has obtained 1.2 billion tons of petroleum geological reserves and 235 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves; 150 million tons of proven petroleum reserves and 100 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

China's sea salt output accounts for about 80% of the country's total salt output. From the Liaodong Peninsula in the north to Hainan Island in the south, sea salt production is available in 12 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions along the coast of China. Changlu salt area (from Shanhaiguan in the north to Huanghua in the South) is the largest salt producing area in China.
