Measures to deal with unfortunate falling water

(1) Grasp as much as possible the floating objects such as boards to avoid collision with other hard objects.

(2) Do not raise your hands or struggle, try not to swim, float on the water.

(3) Don't take off your clothes when the sea temperature is low.

(4) Do not drink sea water.

(5)Get close to other people as much as possible, encourage each other, and try to make yourself easy to be found by rescuers.

How to rescue tsunami victims

(1)Remove inhalation from nose, mouth and abdomen of drowning person in time; put the drowning victim's stomach on the rescuer's thigh, press from the back, and pour out the sea water and other inhalants.

(2)If you are injured, take first aid measures such as hemostasis, dressing and fixation immediately; serious casualties should be sent to hospital in time.

(3)If the drowning person's heart and breathing stop, immediately alternate mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and heart pressure.

(4)Give the person who falls into the water some sugar water appropriately, but don't let him drink alcohol.

(5)Do not give local warming or massage to those who fall into the water, you can restore body temperature in warm water, or put on quilts, blankets, overcoats, etc. to achieve the purpose of heat preservation.

2004 Indonesia Earthquake and Tsunami

The 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake (also known as the Indian Ocean Tsunami or the South Asian Tsunami) occurred on 26 December 2004. Subsequently, the Hong Kong Observatory and the National Seismic Intelligence Center of the United States revised the magnitude of 8.9 and 9.0, respectively, and the moment magnitude of 9.0. Finally, it was determined that the moment magnitude reached 9.3.

It was the strongest earthquake since the 1960 Chilean earthquake and the 1964 Good Friday earthquake in Alaska, which was also the second largest earthquake since 1900, triggering a tsunami of more than 10 meters, which extended as far as Oman in the Persian Gulf, Somalia on the east coast of Africa, Mauritius, Reunion and other countries, the earthquake and tsunami caused huge casualties in Southeast Asia and South Asia, killing about 10,000 people in India and 40,000 people in Sri Lanka, while the casualties in Indonesia were 200,000 and 30,000 respectively.

The earthquake and tsunami have killed more than 292,000 people (confirmed statistics).
