How the red tides are formed

Known as the" red ghost, red tide is also called “red”tide and it is a kind of abnormal phenomenon in Marine ecological system. It is formed by the red-tide algae family, which multiplies explosively in particular environmental conditions.

Seaweed is a big family. In addition to some large algae, many are often tiny plants and some are single-celled plants. According to the cause of red tide species and different number, the sea sometimes shows different colors such as yellow, green, brown.

Red tide is a complicated ecological anomaly and the reason is more complex.

The mechanism of the occurrence of red tide has not been determined. But the principle condition of red tide is that the red tide creatures reach a certain density. Otherwise, although other factors are appropriate, there will be no red tide.

Under normal physical and chemical conditions, red tide creatures are not much heavier than those in plankton and some of them are food for some fish and shrimp. However, due to special environmental conditions, some red tide organisms overreproduce, causing red tides to form.

The destruction of the sea ecological balance by red tide. The ocean is a complex ecological system which is interdependent and interactive with environment, organism and organism. The material circulation and energy flow in the system are in a state of relative stability and dynamic balance.

When the red tide occurs due to the abnormal explosive proliferation of red tide organisms, this balance is seriously disturbed and destroyed. In the early stage of plant red tide, the chlorophyll a content increase, the pH increase, the dissolved oxygen increase and the chemical oxygen consumption increase in the water body of the red tide due to the photosynthesis of plants.

The change of environmental factors has caused some Marine life to grow and reproduce abnormally, resulting in escape or even death of some creatures and destroying the original ecological balance.
