The disasters brought by typhoons

2019-12-11  |   Editor : houguangbing

Typhoons and hurricanes are tropical cyclones. They have different names only because they are produced in different seas and different terms used by different countries. Generally, tropical cyclones that are produced in the Pacific are called typhoons.

Typhoons can bring enough rain to the vast area, becoming a rain system that is closely related to the production and living. But typhoons also bring us more disasters.

Every year, the number of people killed by meteorological disasters in the worldwide accounted for 44.9% of the aggregate deaths in natural disasters. It is one of the most serious natural disasters in the world.

In 2003, the typhoon "cuckoo" landed in Huidong, Shenzhen and Zhongshan, Guangdong province, killing 32 people and injuring nearly 100 people. At least 5 people were missing. The typhoon severely damaged roads, communications, water conservancy facilities and crops in the area.

On August 12, 2004, typhoon "Yunna" landed in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. Seventy-five cities, districts and counties were affected, with a total of 12.99 million people affected. The direct economic loss was 18,128 million yuan.

Typhoons may also bring heavy rain, which caused flash floods, landslides and debris flow. If you are in danger, don’t be careless and fluky. In the area where typhoons often occur, people must also grasp self-help knowledge in floods and people in mountains should master the dynamics of landslides and floods to prevent other disasters caused by typhoons.

Probably all people living in the coastal areas of southeast China are aware of the power of typhoons. When a typhoon passes, trees are uprooted sometimes and roofs can be blown off. The wind is accompanied by torrential rain, which briefly pours down onto the ground, flooding crops, destroying homes and even disrupting traffic and forcing some factories to shut down.On the surface of the sea, the typhoon is even more vicious, raising huge waves and threatening the life of the vessels sailing in the sea and the operators of fishing, farming, exploration, rice oil and other operations. Typhoon is a kind of disastrous weather, which can bring great disaster to people.

Destructive typhoons also expose harmful substances in household goods. For example, if chemicals and chemical containing acetone, and brake oil, etc is not able to be collected in time, their pollution to land and water relying for existence is unimaginable. Therefore, the contaminated items must be collected and destroyed in a certain place. This is also one of the important self-help measures we have adopted in typhoons.
