Abstract
Based on the historical geo-hazard statistics , the correlation is analyzed between the rainfalls and the geo-hazards in Zhouqu .The results reveal a strong positive correlation of geological hazards with accumulated precipitation for one to three hour s before the hazard occurrence , monthly mean rainfall and monthly storm frequency .Meteorological and rainfall causes are also investigated for the August 8th Supper debris flow and countermeasures are proposed against geo-hazards in Zhouqu.
