Dr. Xinghui Huang received his PhD in Solid Geophysics from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. During his PhD study, his work focused on joint inversions for temperature and salinity models of sea water column from seismic reflection profiles, and estimations of geostrophic velocity of mesoscale eddies. Since joining the China Earthquake Networks Center in 2013, his study switched to seismological research on massive landslides and debris flows. He and his co-workers developed an algorithm that inverts long-period seismic records for dynamic parameters and kinematic processes of earth surface processes, such as massive landslides and glacier avalanches. Recently, he is doing researches on real-time earthquake monitoring based on big data technologies. He is also very interested in earthquake source processes and dynamics, including source rupture characteristics, source time functions, as well as computational seismology.
