Organization and Management of Geographic Information System Application Projects

Guidance: This chapter first briefly summarizes the application projects of GIS and the three-dimensional division of GIS application, and then introduces several ways of establishing GIS application and project cycle. Before the start of the project, strategic planning and implementation planning are needed. If the project is to be contracted, contracts should be signed. In the process of GIS project, personnel management, data management and quality control should be carried out. This chapter puts forward to corresponding suggestions according to the specific technical characteristics of GIS. In the end, two quality control standards of software development, ISO9000 series standards and CMM model, are introduced as the guidance of project development agencies。
