Right triangle related formula online calculator

App description

Right triangle is a kind of special triangle, it has some special properties besides the general triangle.

Property 1: the sum of the squares of the two right sides of a right triangle is equal to the square of the hypotenuse. As shown in the figure, ∠BAC = 90°, then AB²+AC²=BC²(Pythagorean theorem);

Property 2: in a right triangle, two acute angles complement each other. As shown in the figure, if∠B+∠C=90°, then ∠BAC=90°.

Property 3: in a right triangle, the center line on the hypotenuse is equal to half of the hypotenuse (that is, the outer center of the right triangle is at the midpoint of the hypotenuse, and the radius of the circumscribed circle R=C/2).

Property 4: the product of two right angles of a right triangle is equal to the product of the hypotenuse and the height on the hypotenuse.

Property 5: as shown in the graph, in RT△ABC, ∠BAC=90°, and AD is the height on the hypotenuse BC, then there is a projective theorem as follows:

(1)(AD)²=BD·DC

(2)(AB)²=BD·BC

Property 6: the acute angle of 30 degrees is half of the hypotenuse.

Usage example

Selection of exact digits: 4;

Side length a = 5;

Base length b = 7;

Oblique side lengthc = 8.602;

Angle α = 35.54;

Angle β = 54.46;

Area = 17.5.

Note

With this right-angled triangle calculator, input two 2 conditions to find the other side length, angle and area hypotenuse length.
